Hello First Grade Families,
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and was able to enjoy the Delta Fair or the Centennial Celebration here at school.
This week and going to be a great week. We are introducing new ideas and exploring new adventures in our Unit Study. We are having our first Chinese classes and celebrating our grandparents on Grandparents day!
Today we had our first Chinese class and learned about the Moon Festival. Here is a link to tell more about it: Moon Festival. Tonight a homefun assignment is to go outside and look at the moon.
Throughout the week we are going to be exploring new things and here is what we are doing:
In language arts we are going to be reading Get the Egg. We will be practicing short -e. The students will continue to develop an understanding two of the four types of sentences: statement and a question.
In math we will be learning about subtraction and 6,7,8,9,10,11, and 12.
Finally in our unit study we will be learning about life cycles and how every living things goes through one. Our examples will be ourselves, butterflies, and frogs.
It is going to be a fabulous week and I am so excited!
