4/15

Hello Families,

Last week the students had a wonderful time reading Andrew Lost and sharing in his journeys! They have created a pocket guide for all the plants and animals Andrew, Thudd, and Judy came across.

This week in the classroom:

We are going to continue reading Andrew Lost and exploring the plants and animals found in the Australian Rainforest! The vocabulary words are deserted, velvety, hologram, hustle, quivered, scrambled, crept, marsupial, thicket, trudge, plodded, lurched, and beamed. The comprehension skill is problem and solution! There are no spelling words this week!!

In math the students will be working in intervention groups! (Monday-measurement, Wednesday- regrouping, and Friday-money and time.) The students have also been meeting with our GA, Ms. Crunk, and reviewing multiplication, math facts, writing, and grammar.

In unit study we will be wrapping up our study of biomes by traveling to the grasslands!! Also this week the ThinkShow project is coming home! The students will be researching an endangered animal! Visit the wiki for websties to help with the research!

Enjoy the week!!!

I wanted to share this picture of me in the grasslands in Kenya! I was just kissed by a beautiful giraffe!
