11/28-12/2

Hello families! I hope you enjoyed the wonderful Thanksgiving break! We had an amazing time celebrating with everyone on Tuesday. Thank you parents for preparing and serving the students and the teachers. We are so fortunate to have a supportive group like you!

I also hope is was very restful because the next few weeks is busy busy and we are on a full sprint to the holidays! This week is Healthy Choices and each day the students are encouraged to wear different things! Tuesday- red shirt and crazy socks; Wednesday-wear a jersey from any sport; Thursday- Campus School shirt and jeans! Also at the Family Gathering on Friday there is a Confucius Classroom Dedication. In the classroom this week we are....

In reading we'll share the story Honeybees. It's a nonfiction piece about how honeybees live and work together. Our comprehension focus is compare and contrast. Our spelling skill is the long e sound spelled with an e and ee. For grammar we'll continue to practice with singular and plural nouns.

In unit study students are learning about matter. This week we will explore gases, mixtures and how matter changes states.

In math we'll apply place value skills to number concepts to 100. Students will compare numbers to identify greater and less than values, identify numbers that come before, between, and after given numbers and order numbers according to value. These are fundamental number sense skills.

It is going to be a great and cold week! Stay warm!
