10/31-11/4

I hope everyone enjoyed our wonderful field trip last week! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful place!
This week we have more fun and exciting memories to make! Our first grade parents are hosting a Halloween party and it is going to be super. Then, Thursday the school is celebrating Fall with the Fall Festival starting at 6:00 in the back yard!

In addition to all the fun, we will also be filling our brains with exhilarating information about the world around us! In language arts we are reading Pumpkin, Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington, a story about a little boy and the life of a pumpkin. The skill is sequencing and in grammar we will continue to learn about proper nouns!

In unit study we will learn about the fascinating parts of a plant! Each part of the plant is so important, just like you!

In math our plane shapes are going to turn into solid figures: spheres, cones, pyramids! What shape is our planet?

I hope everyone had a restful weekend because it is going to be a great and energetic week!
