12/12

Hello Families,


All week we are going to be celebrating holidays and traditions! Thursday we have the holiday party! Check out the wiki for party needs. Friday we are having a pajama and Polar Express day! We will enjoy hot cocoa and watch a family favorite the Polar Express. We also have a fun surprise!


Also this week we are filling our brain with knowledge!


In reading we are finishing The Christmas Penguin and finishing our friendly letters to Santa. In spelling the students are learning the number words.


In math the students will be reviewing even and odd, skip counting, and learning more about the 100 chart.


In unit study penguins are still on the brain!! We will explore the wonderful adventures penguins endure everyday!

Hello Families,

This week is going to be a great week!! All week long we will be collecting items for the Moriah House and the Mid-South Food Bank! Below is the list for everyday!

Monday: Paper Products
Tuesday:  Toiletry Items
Wednesday:  Cleaning Products
Thursday:  School Supplies
Friday:  Non-Perishable Food Items**
**Bring 1 and student can wear jeans to school, bring 2, jeans and a holiday shirt!

In the classroom this week:  In our lliteracy Focus we are reading Christmas Penguin. It is a lovely story about a little penguin named Rollie who writes a friendly letter to Santa about his Christmas wish! The comprehension skill is theme and the 
language skill is how to write a friendly letter. For spelling the students will be reviewing long vowel words!  
For unit study we are diving in with penguins. All week we are going to be learning about penguin parts, habitats, and how they spend their days! Do you know what penguins eat? 

In math the students will be learning about number patterns. Can you count by 5's, 10's, and 2's? By the end of the week you will be!!!
