Hello Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend despite our sad loss. However I think it is great they even made it!
This week in the classroom:

We will continue our novel study, My Father's Dragon. This week's comprehension skills are problem and solution, cause and effect, and sequencing! Students will also interact with many vocabulary words in the text. This week's spelling skill is the /f/ sound spelled pg, and gh. We will continue learning about adverbs. An adverb is a word that describes or tells more about a verb.
Can you think of an adverb?

In unit study students will explore biomes! We will have an interactive study with aquatic biomes! The students will make a book of all the interesting biomes around the world!
In math this week we'll continue money! Look for ways to have your child interact with money at home. Have them earn, count, and spend!

Hello Families,

I hope you enjoyed the wonderful break!!

We are starting in full swing this week!

In language arts the students will be reading My Father's Dragon. Reading. The comprehension focus is Character, Setting, Predicting & Making Inferences. The language arts skill is adverbs. The spelling pattern is au, aw, augh, and al.

In math the students will be learning about money! The students will first review by identifying the different coins and then move into counting dollar bills!
In unit study the students are studying habitats, ecosystems, and food chains.

7:45-drop-off at (office door)
8:00-morning session
11:00-dismissal for morning only intersession (half-circle door)
11-12-lunch and recess
12:00-afternoon session
3:00-dismissal (half-circle)

*All students meet in the playroom when they arrive.
*Students staying all day need to bring a lunch.
